NEW POWER SOURCE FOR
TORQUE-CONTROLLED DRIVERS ANNOUNCED
Has High Performance Features
CLEVELAND, OH—January 8, 2007– A new power source for its
precision electric torque-controlled assembly tools has been announced by ASG,
a division of Jergens, Inc. The new PS-55 Power Source is intended for use with
most of ASG’s low voltage DC drivers. It has a number of high performance
features not found on other power sources, including a switchable two-speed
output that is rated for and delivers a full 30 VDC on its “higher” setting.
This extra voltage is necessary to achieve optimal performance on certain
drivers.
The PS-55 Power Source is for use with a single driver. Input voltage is either
110 or 220 VAC, selected via external switch. The power source is designed for
industrial use, featuring a removeable AC power cord, which is easily replaced
if damaged. The PS-55 has a standard clutch signal output, allowing its use
with counters or programmable logic controllers to monitor a driver.
The PS-55 Power Source will operate most ASG CL and SS Series drivers, as well
as A-Series, and BL- Series drivers. It has a value-engineered design that
makes it more affordable than other similar power sources, while providing
additional functions.
ASG torque-controlled drivers automatically stop when a pre-set torque is
reached, eliminating both over-and under-tightening. The ASG division provides
a full line of equipment and systems for precision assembly work, including
torque-controlled drivers, torque testing equipment, and assembly production
aides.
ASG is located at 15700 South Waterloo Road, Cleveland, OH 44110-3898.
